North Highlands

The firehouse is located in northwest Putnam County along Fishkill Rd off of Rt. 9., approximately 3 miles northeast of the village of Cold Spring.  The North Highlands Fire District is approximately 35 square miles and is composed of some of the most rugged terrain in the lower Hudson Valley.  One of the main areas in the district is the southwest section of the Fishkill Ridge, which contributes to most of the technical rescues as well as wildland fires.  There are a number of lakes, ponds, and streams which are the primary source of water for the department to fill its tanker and trucks.
